The following is a list of the software available in the facility. New software is often added to this page, so remember to check back often.

3D Studio MAX r2.5, r3, r5

 
3D Studio Max is one of the most popular 3D modelling and animation packages available. It is used for a wide variety of applications ranging from scientific visualization to entertainment.

Lightwave 7.5

 

Lightwave has long been associated with Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) used in TV programming. It boasts one of the very best rendering engines available and provide a powerful modelling and animation interface.

Carrara 2

 
Carrara is the product of Infini-D and Ray Dream Studio. The software provides an excellent rendering engine and is an very powerful entry level application for 3D modelling and animation.

Poser 4 Pro (incl. Mimic), Poser 5

 
The modelling and animation of humanoid figures has plagued CGI artists for years. Poser overcomes this by providing intuitive tools for the creation, texturing and animation of bipedal characters. The software also allows the export of models into other formats, which can then be imported into packages such as Max, Lightwave and Vue d'Esprit. The addition of Mimic allows the rapid creation of lip synched facial animation.

Vue d'Esprit 4.1 (includes Mover)

 
Vue is a terrain and vegetation renderer and can be used to transfer between geometry formats. The advanced rendering engine and easy-to-use interface allows even a beginner to create stunning images with ease. Combined with Mover, Poser characters can be included in a Vue scene, including any character animation.

Cleaner 5

 
There a numerous tools available for compressing video and audio, but few do it as well as Discreet's Cleaner. This software provides wizards to help you prepare content for the Web, email, CDROM or DVD.

Final Cut Pro III

 
Probably the most advanced consumer-priced digital video editing software available, Final Cut Pro III allows the consumer into the realm of the professional. While basic operations are simple and intuitive, so that the beginner can quickly produce content, the interface belies the power under the hood. Final Cut Pro III provides all the tools a professional could want, and then some. (Macintosh Only)

Adobe Premiere 6

 
Adobe Premiere (for Windows) is a powerful digital video editing solution. It provides a huge range of features and can deal easily with anything from basic "home-movie" editing to the professional end of digital video.

Adobe Photoshop 6

 
This software is the de facto standard for Image manipulation. For years, Photoshop has stood alone as the most powerful application in its class.

Avatar Labs

 
For those who wish to enter to world of Virtual Reality online communities, Adobe Atmosphere is an excellent choice. And what better way to make your presence felt than by creating your very own avatar (online representation). You can select from a range of character components and even apply photos of yourself for that extra bit of realism. Extremely easy to use, this software is an optimized version of Poser.

Macromedia Director MX

 
Macromedia's Director Studio provides a powerful yet useable way to compile interactive multimedia presentations and applications. Based on the movie-making paradigm, Director allows the user to bring together numerous media elements and synchronize their presentation, allowing the viewer to interact with the elements as the creator sees fit. Underneath the standard drag-and-drop interface is the powerful programming language Lingo.
